Pes anserine bursitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the pes anserine bursa, a small fluid-filled sac located on the inner side of the knee, just below the joint. It often occurs as a result of overuse, trauma, or certain underlying conditions such as osteoarthritis or obesity. Pes anserine bursitis causes pain, swelling, and tenderness on the inner side of the knee. Treatment typically involves rest, ice therapy, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory medications. In severe cases, corticosteroid injections or surgical intervention may be considered to relieve symptoms and address the underlying cause.
