Genu valgum, also known as “knock-knees,” is a condition where the knees angle inward and touch each other while the feet are apart. Genu valgum can be caused by genetics, injury, or developmental disorders such as rickets or Blount’s disease. In some cases, it may not cause any major symptoms, while in others it can lead to knee pain, difficulty walking or running, and an increased risk of arthritis. Treatment for genu valgum may include physical therapy, bracing, or surgery, depending on the severity and underlying cause of the condition.
